The exhibition, held from August 27-29, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City, drew over 200 businesses. It provided a valuable platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and businesses to connect, discuss, and explore new collaboration opportunities. The “Green Economy with Net Zero” workshop on August 27th went beyond a simple display of advanced products and services; it fostered a forum for discussing sustainable solutions and pathways for the furniture and wood processing industries to reach the Net Zero target.

Mr. An, Deputy General Director of Vu Phong Energy Group and Director of VP Carbon, moderated and spoke at the workshop, sharing insights with other experts on green transition strategies and solutions for achieving Net Zero. As part of its commitment to supporting Vietnam’s wood industry towards sustainable development, Vu Phong Energy Group has partnered with various reputable organizations to implement renewable energy projects. A notable example is the 1.13 MWp rooftop solar system installed at Nam Dinh Forest Products Joint Stock Company (NAFOCO) in Nam Dinh. This project is helping the company reduce electricity costs and lower greenhouse gas emissions, contributing directly to the environmental protection goals of the industry. This aligns directly with the necessary steps for a successful Net Zero transition in the wood industry.

Another significant project is the 1.17 MWp solar power system at Tay Ninh Wood Factory. This system not only provides reliable power for production but also contributes to a reduction of over 1,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. This exemplifies Vu Phong Energy Group’s proactive approach to supporting wood industry businesses in achieving their Net Zero commitments.
