Green Journey, Digital Learning: Project Launches in Vietnam

Corporate Social Responsibility and Education Technology are converging in a powerful way, thanks to the recently launched Green Journey, Digital Learning project. Many rural schools in Vietnam face a critical challenge: limited access to essential resources and modern educational tools. This initiative, spearheaded by Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (CC47), Vu Phong Energy Group, Xanh Yeu Thuong, AI Education, and SUN Edu, addresses this need head-on by combining sustainable infrastructure with cutting-edge digital learning solutions. Discover how this collaboration is poised to transform the lives of over 5,000 students annually and potentially expand its impact across Southeast Asia.

On October 26, 2024, a significant partnership was launched in Quy Nhon with the official start of the “Green Journey, Digital Learning” project. This initiative brought together Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (CC47), Vu Phong Energy Group, Xanh Yeu Thuong(), AI Education, and SUN Edu in a collaborative effort to enhance education and sustainability.

This project, commemorating CC47’s 50th anniversary, directly addresses the need for improved infrastructure in remote schools while accelerating digital transformation within the education sector. The plan includes the installation of solar-powered sanitation systems and the provision of Chromebooks, integrated with the Google Workspace for Education ecosystem. With a total investment exceeding 5 billion VND, “Green Journey, Digital Learning” will benefit 10 primary and secondary schools, positively impacting over 5,000 students annually in underserved areas. Future expansion into other Southeast Asian countries is also being considered.

The launch ceremony, held at CC47’s headquarters in Quy Nhon, featured key representatives from each participating organization: Mr. Quang, Duong Minh – General Director of CC47; Mr. Tri, Nguyen Quang – General Director of Vu Phong Energy Group; Ms. Ai, Lam Thuy – Head of Xanh Yeu Thuong; Mr. Nguyen, Tran Vu – Founder of AI Education; and Mr. Hien, Truong Cong Minh – Chairman of SUN Edu International Education Corporation. Discussions focused on collaborative activities and aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 7 (renewable energy), Goal 13 (Climate Action), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

CC47 and Vu Phong Energy Group are spearheading the project as primary sponsors, focusing on building community development-focused solar-powered sanitation facilities to reduce energy costs and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. Xanh Yeu Thuong will oversee the management, construction, and operation of these facilities for a three-year period following completion.

Beyond the commitment to environmental sustainability, the project emphasizes digital transformation, creating a dual path toward progress. AI Education, an authorized Google for Education partner in Vietnam, and SUN Edu will provide crucial support. SUN Edu will sponsor Chromebook devices, while AI Education will ensure access to high-quality Google educational software. This initiative ensures that remote schools have access to essential digital learning tools, enabling flexible and effective knowledge acquisition for students. Furthermore, teachers will receive specialized training from AI Education and SUN Edu, enhancing teaching quality and fostering innovative learning methodologies, a vital component of modern corporate social responsibility.

The October 26, 2024 signing date marks the commencement of implementation activities across Central provinces. The groundbreaking ceremony for the first school – Ky Hai Primary & Secondary School in Ha Tinh – is scheduled for November 10, 2024. Subsequently, in early 2025, the project will extend to Vinh Thanh Town Primary School and Vinh Son Ethnic Semi-boarding Secondary School in Binh Dinh.
