“While Southeast Asia boasts strong renewable resources and investment opportunities, the current share of solar and wind in the energy mix remains relatively low, this event delves into how existing electricity market designs can be adapted to attract crucial investments in renewables and ensure smooth integration into power grids undergoing significant transformation.” said Mr. Sascha Oppowa, Energy Project Director at GIZ.

In-depth discussions centered on identifying policy measures to boost investment in renewable energy and cost-effective integration systems. Delegates also explored the benefits, opportunities, and potential of the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) for interconnected power systems across the region.

The event provided an open space for stakeholders to discuss new trends, challenges in the renewable energy sector, and the solutions countries can implement to achieve their set goals.
