He highlighted solutions that help businesses ease the burden of upfront investment while ensuring long-term access to stable, green electricity. According to Mr. An, the decreasing cost of solar systems, high commercial electricity prices in the Philippines, and the growing demand for clean energy present significant opportunities for C&I solar.

Key models such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Energy as a Service (EaaS) were emphasized for their role in supporting corporate energy transitions. He also noted value-added factors like carbon credit trading, I-REC certification, and ESG reporting, which enhance project financial viability and investment attractiveness.

Policy dialogue – Promoting sustainable development

Mr. An also joined a fireside chat with legal expert Atty. Celina R. Encarnacion on the topic “Navigating policy shifts and market trends for C&I Rooftop Solar growth in the Philippines.”

The fireside chat provided a direct perspective on the policies and barriers surrounding the Philippine market.

This session offered insights into the policy landscape and legal barriers in the Philippine C&I solar market. Discussions covered the Green Energy Option Program, Renewable Portfolio Standards, and regulatory challenges. Mr. An’s contributions were highly appreciated for their regional perspective and on-the-ground experience in emerging markets.
