On February 27, 2024, Vu Phong Energy Group marked its 15th anniversary, a significant milestone in its mission to “Develop clean energy for a green environment and sustainable development”. The anniversary ceremony, themed “New Position – New Motivation”, was attended by over 100 guests, including strategic shareholders, partners, customers, and the entire Vu Phong Energy Group team. This occasion provided an opportunity to reflect on 15 years of development and set sights on the next phase of the company’s hundred-year vision for clean energy.

Celebrating 15 Years: Growth and Expansion

Vu Phong Energy Group’s green journey began with the establishment of Vu Phong Solar Joint Stock Company on February 27, 2009, in Binh Duong. Starting as a small startup, Vu Phong steadily grew into a leading enterprise in Vietnam’s renewable energy sector. The company has undertaken a series of large-scale projects, demonstrating its capabilities as a provider of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) services.

Innovation and Localization

In addition to its role as an EPC contractor and a professional O&M service provider, Vu Phong Energy Group has also made strides in producing renewable energy equipment. The company manufactures 100% “Make in Vietnam” solar panel cleaning robots to serve O&M activities. As a pioneer in promoting localization in the renewable energy sector, Vu Phong Energy Group was honored to become the first renewable energy company to receive an Investment Registration Certificate from the Board of Management of Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) to build a Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing and Research Center in the High-Tech Park.

Since late 2019 and early 2020, Vu Phong Energy Group has led the implementation of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, in cooperation with many international investment funds. This model is considered an optimal solution to help manufacturing enterprises in Vietnam use solar power without any initial investment. With the PPA model, Vu Phong’s green journey becomes even more meaningful as it supports the green transition of more large enterprises, including many companies listed in the Top 500 largest companies in Vietnam – VNR500.

Vu Phong Energy Group is increasingly asserting its capacity and reputation as an investor and developer of renewable energy. The company’s efforts and maturity are evidenced by a series of international awards, such as the C&I Energy South East Asia Leadership Awards 2022, The Asian Power Awards 2021, The Solar Future Awards 2021. These accolades are a testament to the company’s commitment to promoting clean energy for a green environment and sustainable development.

In the trend of sustainable development and digital transformation – green transformation, Vu Phong Energy Group is making efforts to continue our journey, such as adding many solutions to accompany carbon-neutral businesses and sustainable development, such as renewable energy certificates; emission reduction certificates, ESG practice consulting… through our subsidiary VP Carbon.

Sharing at the 15th-anniversary celebration of the company’s establishment, Mr. Phong, Pham Nam – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vu Phong Energy Group – emphasized the new motivation for the next journey of Vu Phong Energy Group: motivation in the role of investor – developer – asset manager of renewable energy projects, motivation in the role of ESG consulting firm, and motivation from research and development in the renewable energy ecosystem. Vu Phong Energy Group will also develop a new vision and position, aiming to become a leading professional solar project developer not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia. Vu Phong Energy Group’s international journey took the first steps in 2023 and will be further accelerated in the next journey.

“For the 2024-2029 period, Vu Phong Energy Group aims to continue developing the renewable energy ecosystem and carbon-neutral solutions; expanding investment cooperation – especially enhancing capital mobilization from international investment funds – with the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) model. Vu Phong Energy Group will expand to the Southeast Asia region, after Vu Phong Singapore was established in 2023 and successfully raised capital. Vu Phong Energy Group also aims to become a public company and be listed shortly and will also start the Vu Phong Tech Renewable Energy Equipment Manufacturing and Research Center at Saigon Hi-Tech Park in Ho Chi Minh City to operate with a global vision” – Mr. Phong, Pham Nam announced.
